About us
St Paul Old Ford is a church in the heart of East London. We’re a pretty ordinary bunch of people trying to follow Jesus together.
We come from different backgrounds, cultures and generations, and we don’t all see things the same way. But we believe there is room for all of us around the table. We’re learning what it means to love God, love one another and be part of the life of our local community.
We’re an Anglican church from the Sacramental Evangelical tradition. That means we hold together the Bible and the Sacraments: hearing God’s Word and meeting God in bread and wine, prayer and worship. Our faith is centred on Jesus, and we want our worship and our everyday lives to reflect his grace and love.
But church isn’t just what happens on Sunday. It’s the friendships we make, the meals we share, the prayers we pray, the questions we ask, and the ways we care for one another. We believe that as we share life together, we become more like the family God calls us to be.
You don’t need to have everything sorted out before you come. You don’t even need to know what you believe. There’s a place for you here.

We want St Paul’s to be a place where people are known, welcomed and given room to flourish. Through our hospitality, our partnerships with organisations such as Ability Bow and IntoUniversity, and simply by sharing life with the people around us, we hope to play our part in the wellbeing of our community.
We believe that welcome can change people, that relationships can bring healing, and that hope grows when people know they don’t have to face life alone.
Our prayer is that St Paul’s will continue to grow not simply in size, but in depth: becoming an even stronger part of the community we serve, and a place from which God’s love, hope and transformation can reach far beyond Old Ford.

Our address is: St Paul Old Ford, 84 St Stephen’s Road, Bow, London E3 5JL
You can find us on St Stephen’s Road, just up from Roman Road market, on the way to Victoria Park. The church is in a great location at the heart of our community, close to shops, cafes, pubs and bus stops.
Feel free to pop in any time we’re open, which is usually between 9am and 5pm on weekdays, and around the service on Sunday mornings.

Our cafe – St Paul’s Kitchen – is open Wednesday to Friday, from 11am to 4pm.
The building can also be open for events and other hires outside of these times, including evenings.
