Holy Week and Easter 2025 at St Paul’s
Palm Sunday
Holy Week starts on Palm Sunday with our traditional joint Palm Sunday service with St Barnabas Bethnal Green.
We’ll meet at St Paul’s at 10:30 on Sunday morning, 13 April. The service will begin there, then we will walk down Roman Road in a procession together, to finish the service with communion at St Barnabas. We hope you’re all going to be in good voice for singing on route!
We will only be livestreaming the St Paul’s part of this service, for obvious reasons, so the livestream will stop when we leave after the peace.
Wednesday
Wednesday will feature Christian meditation at 7:30pm and The Prayer Course at 8pm (see the Lent 2025 post for more info).
Maundy Thursday
We will have a Maundy Thursday agape meal at 7.00pm on Thursday 17 April. We will eat and say liturgy together, remembering the last supper. We will also have communion and ceremonially strip the altar, making the church bare for Good Friday.
Good Friday
We’re having 3 events on Good Friday, 18 April, over 4 hours from 11am. These will be as follows.
11am: family arts and crafts for Good Friday
12pm: screening of the film ‘The Passion of the Christ’
2pm: Good Friday communion service
These will be in-person only.
Easter Day
We will be gathering together to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection at 10:30am on Easter Day, 20 April. Please join us for the most joyous day of the Christian year!
There will be even more rejoicing than usual this year, because we will also be having 6 baptisms and one renewal of baptism vows.
