Holy Week and Easter at St Paul’s

For the first time since 2019, we have a full programme of services for Holy Week and Easter.

Palm Sunday

It all starts on Sunday, with the return of our traditional joint Palm Sunday service with St Barnabas Bethnal Green.

We’ll meet at St Barnabas at 10:30 on Sunday morning. The service will begin there, then we will walk down Roman Road in a procession togheter, to finish the service with communion at St Paul’s. We hope you’re all going to be in good voice!

Maundy Thursday

We will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7pm on Thursday 14 April.

The service will include the Eucharist and foot washing.

We’ll be livestreaming it on our YouTube channel.

Good Friday

On Good Friday last year, we opened our door for the first time after lockdown. This year, we’re returning to our traditional 3 services, over 3 hours from midday, which are:

12pm: Stations of the cross. This is a service particularly for children and families, and will involve us moving around the church to think about the different parts of Jesus’ journey on Good Friday. We will not be livestreaming this service.

1pm: Meditation and music. A contemplative service of music and readings, to help you reflect on Jesus’ death.

Livestream the music and meditation service on our YouTube channel.

2pm: Passion Eucharist. With the liturgy for Good Friday.

Livestream the Passion Eucharist on our YouTube channel.

There are 2 separate livestreams for each service, although they will run back to back. There may be a short break between them.

Easter Day

We will be gathering together to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection at 10:30am. Please join us for the most joyous day of the Christian year!
