Soul Survivor 2019
Soul Survivor 2019 was a brilliant week filled with love, laughter and most importantly in the presence of God.
This August a group of 14 young people from St Paul’s youth group, accompanied by 5 youth leaders spent an amazing week at Soul Survivor Week B in Peterborough, surrounded by 10,000 other young people and their youth leaders.
We all spent most of our days laughing, singing, talking, attending seminars, playing games and football, cooking and worshipping God. Below are a few quotes from the young people about their time at Soul Survivor;
“Soul Survivor is a fun and new way of learning about God” – Youth, aged 13.
“One of my highlights was spending more time with my friends. I also liked it when they played my favourite song ‘My Lighthouse’ – Youth, aged 12.
“Soul Survivor helped me have a better connection with God and my church family” – Youth, aged 16.
“It gave us an opportunity to both connect with each other and with God… the seminars helped connect people with God in all kinds of real-life situations. It was an amazing and eye-opening time for my own personal faith” – Leader.
This year was the final year of Soul Survivor as they have made the decision to stop running the summer festival. The leadership team of Soul Survivor strongly feel that God has told them to ‘Stop’ and there is the opportunity for other summer youth festivals to grow in ministry.
