Sunday service 10 April 2022: Palm Sunday

Join us in worship at our Sunday morning service on 10 April, which is Palm Sunday!

This Sunday will be a bit different, and will see the return of the joint Palm Sunday service between St Paul’s and our near neighbours in St Barnabas Bethnal Green, just a short walk down the Roman Road.

You’ll need to do that walk too, because we’re meeting at 10:30am, not at St Paul’s, but at St Barnabas. Please remember to go to the right church!

We will have the first part of the service there, including the sermon. And after that, we will walk together back along the Roman to St Paul’s, where we will gather again and celebrate the Eucharist.

This will be our first joint Palm Sunday service since 2019! In fact, it’ll be the first Palm Sunday of any kind that we’ve had since 2019. The last 2 years have seen lockdowns at this time of year, so it will be fantastic to get together and wave palm crosses again!

For the St Paul’s part of the service, please remember that we’re taking some precautions to protect us from COVID transmission. So, if you’re intending to come in person, please:

  • wear a mask when you’re inside the church building, especially when singing
  • sanitise your hands with the sanitiser we’ve provided at the entrance
  • keep socially distanced as much as possible

We’ll also be keeping the door open at times to allow for ventilation, so you might need to wrap up and keep your coat on.

If you’re not able to come in person, you can watch the service live on Sunday at 10:30am on YouTube. However, we will only be livestreaming the service from when we arrive in St Paul’s, so it won’t be at the usual time. We can’t be sure exactly when it will be, but keep an eye on the YouTube channel if you want to watch live.

If you can’t watch it live, the recording will stay on our YouTube channel and you can watch it any time.

This week’s readings are:

Psalm 118: verses 1 to 2 and 19 to 29
Luke 19: 28 to 40
