Wednesday evening Bible studies
We’ve relaunched our Wednesday evening Bible studies at St Paul’s. We now only have one study on a Wednesday evening, and that’s in the cafe at 7:30pm for about an hour. Bible in the pub is not on for the foreseeable future, and our Wednesday evening groups are now consolidated in this one group.
Following Rev Darius’s excellent Bible Basics workshop series in October, we’re spending November and December studying our namesake St Paul’s letter to the Philippians.
We’ll also be taking turns to lead studies, using some of the skills we learned in Bible Basics.
We’re breaking down Philippians into chunks for each week, as follows.
5 November: opening prayer and partnership in the gospel (chapter 1 verses 1 to 11)
12 November: Paul’s imprisonment (chapter 1 verses 12 to 26)
19 November: imitating Jesus in mindset and action (chapter 1 verse 27 to chapter 2 verse 11)
26 November: living out Jesus’s story (chapter 2 verses 12 to 30)
3 December: Paul’s life imitating Jesus (chapter 3 verses 1 to 21)
10 December: living humbly and with hope (chapter 4 verses 1 to 23)
This is based on the way The Bible Project breaks down the letter. You can watch a Bible Project video on Philippians for more about it.
We hope to see you on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm, right after Christian meditation.
